Rockwood Corporation is rapidly developing a reputation as the “go to” company for difficult tank jacking and relocation projects.

Our group brings to Rockwood Corporation many years of heavy rigging and construction experience.  Knowledge of heavy crane lifts on lock and bridge projects combined with millwright experience has given birth to the lifting and moving of steel tanks.  With welding and concrete experience we have the unique ability to perform this task with efficiency and competence.

Each jacking job is unique and includes the following careful considerations:

  • Evaluation of existing soil conditions.

  • Foundation design including possible reinforcement.

  • Design of additional rings.

  • Calculation of jack system requirements.  Consideration given to standpipe or reservoir configuration.  Wind resistance is also evaluated and planned.

  • Coatings are specified.

Not all tanks are good candidates for jacking. Let Rockwood Corporation perform a feasibility study at no cost or select a more in depth P.E. evaluation including preliminary foundation and steel ring sizing.  This option is useful in preparation for bidding.
